On a hot, sunny day I drew some of the cows at a neighboring farm. This smart cow was shaded from the heat of the day in the tall grass but some of the days rays still touched her softly. She & I spent a few happy hours together as I sketched her - she looked up from chewing now and again, flicking flies with her long, knotty tail.
