A few years ago a beautiful fox had her kits in a small clearing moments away from our house. It was such a thrill to walk down the hill and watch mama fox and her kits playing and sunbathing. Occasionally our eyes met but I think she knew I posed no threat and would carry on regardless. Every summer I look to see if maybe they'll make their home there again but there has been no sign.
